In the dock: 36 month ban for drug driving and fine for abusive behaviour among cases
A MAN from Wellington has been handed a community order and banned from driving for 36 months.
Karl Matthews, of Oaken Ground in Rockwell Green, appeared at Taunton Magistrates' Court on July 9 charged with: driving while unfit through drugs; using a motor vehicle without third party insurance; driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and failing to surrender to police/court bail at the appointed time.
The 58-year-old was handed a community order and rehabilitation activity requirement of ten days for drug driving and failing to surrender to police/court bail.
He was also fined £75, ordered to pay £300 in costs and an £114 surcharge for drug driving.
There were no separate penalties for the other offences.

Fine
A MAN from Taunton has been fined £80 for using threatening/abusive words/behaviour.
Wayne Webber, of Wellesley Street, appeared at Taunton Magistrates' Court on July 11.
The 39-year-old was also ordered to pay £300 in costs.

Unpaid work
A MAN from Taunton has been fined £865 for failing to attend unpaid work appointments.
Ashley Arthur John Dagge, 39, of Trull Road, appeared at Taunton Magistrates' Court on July 9.
Breach
A MAN from Norton Fitzwarren has been fined £175 for breach of a domestic violence protection order.
Andrew Timewell, 59, of Hilly Park, appeared at Taunton Magistrates' Court on July 7.
